Mobi Apps Review – Unolingo Review

Our friends over at Mobi Apps Review recently reviewed Unolingo and we really like what reviewer, Emma Mitchell, had to say:

Unolingo is very easy to learn, but can be very challenging at the hardest levels for those who really like to work their brains playing word and puzzle games. At the same time, the easier levels are relaxing and can be a nice way to de-stress after a long day.

We’d encourage you to visit her review of Unolingo and read more about it.

Unolingo – Crosswords Without Clues

Are you looking for a new game app that simulates your mind, tests your word power, and makes you think? Do you like Sudoku but crave something different? Are you a fan of Scrabble, Words with Friends or Wheel of Fortune? Have you ever tried crosswords without clues? Unolingo, “The Next Great Puzzle”, may be exactly what you are looking for.

The idea of crosswords without clues is not a new concept but Unolingo has given special credence to the idea in the form of a mobile app. What differentiates Unolingo is the idea that each crossword is consistent in its presentation and requires the puzzler to find exactly the right spot for each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Every Unolingo is a 10 x 10 crossword, but the puzzle difficulty can vary immensely (from 1-star to 4-star) based on the number of letters already present in the puzzle.

Playing Unolingo is very much like playing Sudoku only with letters instead of numbers.  In these crosswords without clues each letter that is placed reduces the number of options for future letter placements and helps the puzzle take shape.  But in almost every Unolingo, there are several words that offer multiple alternatives.   So when letters don’t fit as expected at the end, logic and deductive reasoning is required to find those choices that must be altered to uncover the correct solution to the overall puzzle.
